Play-Well LEGO birthday party

Disclosure: Play-Well TEKnologies provided a complimentary workshop in exchange for an honest review. As always, the thoughts and opinions are mine.

My oldest son just turned 7 and for his birthday party theme he requested Pokemon. Read all the fun details here. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to include a little LEGO fun, so I collaborated with Play-Well to host a LEGO workshop. It was the perfect entertainment for his buddies that was both engaging yet fun. Keep reading to learn all about it!

How it works:

The process to sign up was very easy. Once you’re in touch with the instructor, they ask a few questions such as when and where you’d like to have the workshop, the age range, how many kids you can expect, and what kind of party theme you’d like. When I mentioned I wanted a Pokemon-themed workshop, they were happy to make it work.

They have 10 Midwest instructors and you can be sure the instructor is well-qualified for the job. Many of them either have an engineering and/or teaching background. In fact, Play-Well is constantly looking for staff that are passionate about teaching kids, have a love for LEGO, and want to inspire the next generation of engineers, innovators, scientists, and inventors.

Here are their job requirements.

The Workshop:

The kids were so excited when our instructor Jake arrived with bins and bins full of LEGOs – over 20,000 pieces! While he was setting up, the kids were able to play with two bins full of LEGOs.

Free play during

After about 10-15 minutes of free play, we were ready for the workshop! He brought the group outside – away from LEGOs so they were able to concentrate on instructions. They were such good listeners!

Jake taught them about gears and showed them exactly how to build a battletrack. After the brief demonstration, the kids were so ready to get started. Look at how focused they are!

They worked on their own Pokemon creations. It’s amazing what they came up with!

Whenever anyone needed a hand, Jake was ready to help. He was very patient and helpful.

After their hard work, they put their Pokemon creations to work and battled it out on the battletracks. Very cool, right?

After the workshop, the kids were super helpful and helped cleaned up their projects. Jake took about 15 minutes to clean-up and he was on his way. Everything went perfectly!

Bottom Line:

The birthday boy and his friends had such a great time! It was great seeing them so focused and engaged, but were having fun at the same time. If you’re looking for a unique themed party, a Play-Well party is perfect. It’s a great way to incorporate the love of LEGOs, learning, and fun!

We wish…
